Companies are welcome to send specifications and documentation, which is treated exactly like any other published source and gives them no advantage beyond being easier to research accurately.

When the right answer earns us nothing

This happens regularly with greenhouse structures, where a good deal of the market is sold direct by the manufacturer with no affiliate programme. Those kits are still named and still recommended where they are the right answer, because a site that only recommends what it can monetise is not worth reading.
