The whole argument for a lean-to is the wall. It does not lose heat the way glazing does, it absorbs solar gain during the day and gives it back at night, and it shelters the structure from one direction of wind. That is a genuine and substantial advantage for winter growing.
The whole argument against is the same wall, because it also blocks light from one side, and it casts shade for part of the day depending on aspect.

Aspect decides it
A lean-to on a south-facing wall in the northern hemisphere is an excellent structure. The same lean-to on a north-facing wall receives almost no direct sun in winter and is a poor greenhouse at any price. East facing gives morning sun and a cold afternoon; west facing gives a cold morning and a hot afternoon, which suits fewer crops than it sounds like it should.
Work through siting and orientation before choosing between the two forms, because it changes the answer completely and it cannot be fixed afterwards.
Ventilation is the lean-to weakness
Cross ventilation needs openings on opposite sides, and a lean-to has a wall where one of those should be. That leaves roof vents and a door, and in a hot spell it is often not enough. Check the rules before attaching anything to a house
A structure attached to a dwelling can fall under building regulations, planning rules or a lease in ways a freestanding greenhouse at the bottom of the garden does not. Flashing where the roof meets the wall is also a genuine detail rather than an afterthought, since a badly flashed lean-to sends water into the house wall. Check locally, and get the flashing done properly.
